Alex Benetel is a teacher and photographer from Sydney, Australia. She attended the University of Sydney and graduated with a Bachelor of Education (Primary).
Being fortunate enough to have travelled to many places since quite a young age, she has become very familiar with the importance of documenting a memory or special occasion with the use of a camera. At the age of 15, she enrolled in a Visual Design course which sparked her passion for photography. In 2014, she was named as one of the 20 best artists on Flickr and was flown to New York to exhibit her work. The Flickr20under20 exhibition was curated by Ivan Shaw, Director of Photography for Vogue.
In 2015, Alex was invited by Disney and Instagram to take stills on the set of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. In 2017, she visited the set of A Wrinkle In Time to take stills of some of the talent (Charles McCabe, Storm Reid and Mindy Kaling). Most recently, she took stills on Artemis Fowl, directed by Kenneth Branagh.
Alex aims to create beautiful photographs that capture mysterious yet dream-like worlds, filled with oddities that encompass aspects of reality.
